The Minister of Science has awarded scholarships to outstanding young scientists in various disciplines. How much money has been allocated and how much will the scholarship holders receive?

The Polish Minister of Science awarded scholarships to 228 outstanding on page seo service young scientists, including 32 doctoral students, 37 postgraduate students and representatives of other categories. The scholarship recipients represent 53 scientific and artistic fields. The candidates for the scholarships were recommended by university rectors, directors of institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences, and heads of scientific and international research institutions.




Selection of applications and competition

The scholarship competition received a total of 1,708 applications. The advisory panel reviewed the applications using a point system, evaluating them within the various scientific and artistic disciplines.


An approach was taken to select the fellows that ensured equality between the scientific and artistic disciplines. Each discipline was awarded the same number of fellowships, allowing young scientists to compete within their specialization rather than across the entire field. A maximum of five fellowships could be awarded to each individual discipline, including one for doctoral students. However, disciplines with a higher number of applications were awarded more than five fellowships due to a field-leveling mechanism. This meant that fellowships that remained available in one discipline could be redistributed to other disciplines within the same field. Thus, more popular disciplines had the opportunity to receive more fellowships.


Funding and amount of scholarships

The government allocated over 44 million zlotys for scholarships. The winners of the competition will receive scholarships for 3 years in the amount of 5,390 zlotys.

Warsaw University – 26 scholarships,
Jagiellonian University – 16 scholarships,
Silesian University of Technology – 9 scholarships,
University of Gdansk – 8 scholarships,
Wroclaw University of Science and Technology – 6 scholarships.
